It is without question that The Fucking Ocean is one of the best bands San Francisco has ever produced. Ever. Ever ever ever. And, for good measure, ever again.

I love this band. They are the most friendly, do-gooding, politically minded, adorable as fuck punks that I have ever come across and I want to take them home with me and keep them on my shelf so I can have them for my very own. But that would be selfish and would deprive the world of their edgy, disjointed, off-beat rock that no one should have to live without.

Somewhere between the sounds of The Fall and the politics of The Clash, The Fucking Ocean emerge with a catchy style, damn-impressive musicianship, and slogans that stay in your head like all good propaganda should. But after seeing them at The Eagle Thursday night I couldn't help but disagree with their lyric, "You get what you pay for", 'cause I got so very much more from seeing them play live again.

God I love this band. Fuck.
