Rock Make is going to be awesome. If you volunteer, it could be even awesomer!

The fourth annual Rock Make Street Festival is coming up next Saturday, September 17th! Put on by the fine folks of TheBayBridged.com, Tartufi, and Cookie the Dude, it's a whole day of fun in the sun (seriously! it's in the Mission!) for the whole family -- especially if that family has lots of live music-lovers in it. So many of our local favorites are playing it's ridiculous: Tartufi, Battlehooch, Phantom Kicks, James & Evander, Birds & Batteries, and more. (Full disclosure: My band Mist Giant is also playing the fest this year. But that has nothing to do with how excited I am about the lineup! Well, okay, a little.)
Also exciting is the fact that Lagunitas Brewing Company will be pouring brews at the "local beer and wine garden," which will also feature Bear Flag Wines.
If you want to help make Rock Make a smashing success this year, consider volunteering. Per The Bay Bridged: "Volunteer roles for this year’s festival will include donation taking, guest interaction, bartending and other general assistance. If you are interesting in helping out on the 17th, please email volunteers@thebaybridged.com as soon as possible with your name, phone number and email. We look forward to working with you!"

From the Bay Bridged:
Now in its fourth year, the Rock Make Street Festival has become one of the most anticipated outdoor events in the Mission District, a free, all ages, all day celebration of the San Francisco Bay Area’s independent arts, crafts, and music communities. Uniting these diverse creative worlds, the festival offers attendees a unique opportunity to sample the best of San Francisco DIY all in one place, which is why thousands of attendees flock to Rock Make every year.On Saturday, September 17th from 12pm to 7pm, Rock Make 2011 returns to Treat Avenue at 18th Street in San Francisco (RSVP on Facebook). Presented by The Bay Bridged, Tartufi, and Cookie and the Dude, Rock Make 2011 will feature 70 local arts and crafts vendors showcasing their wares between two stages of local independent bands, with performances by Tartufi, Battlehooch, Birds & Batteries, Bare Wires, Phantom Kicks, James and Evander, Cannons & Clouds, Sean Smith, ChuCha Santamaria Y Usted, Mist Giant, Vons De Qua and the SF Rock Project’s House Band.
New to Rock Make this year, a number of local food trucks will be selling tasty items throughout the festival grounds, including Spencer on the Go, TomKat, and Gorilla Pete’s. There will also be a local beer and wine garden serving offerings from Lagunitas Brewing Company and Bear Flag Wines.
All told, Rock Make 2011 isn’t just a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon in the Mission. It’s also a vital intersection of local talents gathering to celebrate the unique creative spirit that makes the San Francisco Bay Area great.
